ROBUST COLD CHAIN

Milk, in order to retain its goodness, must be maintained at temperatures below 5°C at the earliest after milking. This is why Arokya has put in tireless efforts to build a robust cold chain that starts from the procurement stage and continues through processing, packing, transport and delivery at the final point.

To elucidate further, fresh milk is brought by farmers to Hatsun Milk Banks in 10,000 villages within half an hour of milking.

From here, the milk is transported to chilling centers, situated in a radius of 30 kilometers, within half an hour. At the chilling center the milk is tested and chilled to 4°C.

The milk is then transported from the chilling center to the dairy, situated within 100 kilometers, in insulated trucks which maintain the milk in a cold state. At the dairy the milk is tested and loaded into silos to be maintained at a temperature of 4°C. From the silos the milk is then homogenized, pasteurized and stored at 4°C before packing.

From the cold room the packed milk is maintained at 4°C and is loaded onto refrigerated trucks to be transported to various destinations.
